The next Aging & Disability Network meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 14, 2010 2-3:30 p.m. at Malta Community Center, 1 Bayberry Drive, Ballston Spa. Click here for directions. Please extend the invitation to others you think would be interested in participating.
December's meeting will be a wonderful opportunity to share some holiday cheer and to network. Be sure to bring plenty of marketing materials and business cards. Debra Obenhoff of Home Helpers has generously offered to provide refreshments for the event. Please let me know if you will be attending at sosdevelopment@nycap.rr.com so we can have an accurate headcount.
In the event of inclement weather, Aging & Disability Network will follow the cancellation schedule for the Saratoga County Senior Meal Delivery; if the meal delivery is cancelled, then our meeting will also be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on most major news networks.
I would like to thank St. Edward the Confessor Church for hosting last month’s meeting as well as the very informative panel of presenters including Karen Britt, Western Region Program Manager of Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, Lucille Phelps, RN, Dementia Care Manager of Albany VA Medical Center, and Diane VanDusen, LMSW, Manager of Clinical Dementia Services of Eddy Alzheimer's Services. Note that our next meeting will be held on January 11, 2011 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. at Saratoga United Methodist Church, 175 5th Avenue, Saratoga Springs. The meeting topic will be a Saratoga County Public Health sponsored presentation entitled, "The First 72 Hours" to educate us on how to help those we serve to prepare for potential emergencies. Our presenters will include RSVP volunteers, Joe Geiger and Linda Ciulla.
