"The First 72 Hours"

**We will hold meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, 2:00-3:30 p.m., unless otherwise indicated.

“Our mission is to promote community awareness of the programs and services available to Saratoga County residents who are aging and/or disabled, and their caregivers, so as to better meet the needs of these ever increasing populations.”

Introductions & Announcements:

• Opening/Introduction/Mission Statement-Cindy Harrington

• A notetaker is needed for the January and February meetings. Please contact Cindy Harrington if assistance can be provided.

• A request was made for all members to complete and return the questionnaire concerning the speaker topics presented in 2010. Also, suggestions for 2011 topics are being accepted.

• All members were asked to sign up for the blog and for the Facebook page.

• Joe Geiger of Saratoga County Public Health will speak at the next meeting about what to do in an emergency: "The First 72 Hours."

•  Alice Richmond from the Office for the Aging is retiring on 12/23/10. Thanks were expressed to her for all of her help. Alice brought in service directories for all to take copies of.

• Thanks were expressed to Deborah Obenhoff for the treats for today's meeting.

• Each member introduced himself/herself and explained what services his/her organization provides.

• Questions and comments were solicited for the draft form for interagency communication. The form will offer a way for agencies to communicate on a variety of issues relevant to clients they have in common.

• Leslie Carroll of Vet HELP announced that a new women veterans homeless shelter will be opening soon in Ballston Lake.

• Deborah Marzo produces a quarterly magazine called Vivacity which addresses elder issues. Her company will also do a trade show in the fall geared to issues affecting Baby Boomers and their parents.

• Peter Whitten of Shelters of Saratoga announced that their First Annual Gala will be held 4/7/11.
